So the dealer recommend to not remove your bags much? Hmm, I bet the motor will last longer If you don't ride it also.

Just had this done yesterday. The service guy noted that the problem only exists on bikes where when you turn the attachment screw (can't remember its real name), you don't feel a detent (feel it going over a little hump). Sorry for the bad explanation. Bottom line, it is real for some bikes.

Default My service guy gave me a heads up about a week ago!

Keeping a close look until I can get in and let them fix it!
Not the end of the world lol

I Dzus fastener that is properly locked, it has an over the center point, will NOT release the bag. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. Over the past 10 years HD has had so many complaints from riders that didn't properly lock the Dzus fastener that they finally gave in and said, "OK, we will bolt them on".

HD may have received many complaints but the same fastening parts have been in use since 1995. It was only with the 2014 & newer models that the receptacle (spring clip) was changed and this is the part that is failing on some bikes. I have seen both the old (1995-2013) and new (2014-2015) spring clips side by side and it appears the new clip was made to fit a thicker frame tab. It could be possible that HD went with the lowest bidder and now has discovered/admitted that the new spring clip sometimes fail to keep tension on the pin. Without tension the pins can turn a quarter turn and fall out. I had one of the four clips fail after a year. I replaced the clip and all has been good for over 10 months now.

Is the fix still quick release, or is it bolt on? My bike is affected by the recall, but I love the quick release!

Had mine done yesterday and it took about one minute per side to do. Yes the system is still quick release.
