New neighbor wants my bike

New neighbor wants my bike
As some of you that frequent the classifieds might have noticed, I've had my sporty for sale for quite some time, trying to reimburs my savings account for money used to try & fix a long time back problem. My back treatments were a waste of money, & I've really come to enjoy my bike. Last weekend I finally got the chance to take it for a good 4 hour trip, & realized it was alot more comfortable than I thought it would be. I had a ball. Today, my new neighbors came over to introduce themselves & see "the bike". My other neighbor told them I had a bike for sale, & they are looking for something toscoot around on & save gas money. I don't think they are real knowledgable about bikes, & that worries me. I've told them that this bike has alot of power for it's size & it didn't seem to bother them. I'm not sure I want to sell something like this to "new neighbors" that I will have to see every day, not to mention having to see & hear "my bike" every time they go for a ride. If they were to get hurt on it, I would feel absolutely terrible. I would hate to have this deal ruin a friendship before it even gets going. Has anybody else ever been in this situation?

I know that's the smart thing to do, but I've kinda looked at selling to friends or neighbors alot like loaning money to family or friends. It's a good way to end friendships & relationships, & man I just met these people, & they seemed like they could be great neighbors. Hell, they invited me for beer!! Beer is good.

I've sold my last three bikes to friends- what a pain in the a$$. Any little problem, any little question, they're calling me up for help.
What oil should I use?
How doI change the oil?
Why won't it start? I only let it sit for six months.
I ran over a nail. Can you change the tire for me?
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.
Even though they're friends, I start 'forgetting' to return their calls.

I'll be honest, I didn't know how comfy the bike was on a long ride until last Sunday, & I really enjoyed it. I also confirmed (to myself anyway), that the pre 04 sportsters do not vibrate bad enough to NOT own one.
I don't need someone who lives just across the alley frommegiving me grief ifthe bike isnot what they expected it to be. That's what I'm worried about. Oh well, they haven't bought it yet, so I guess I'm crying before I'm hurt here.
