I have the older Outlaw Slim-G (which I think is pre-recall..??), how would that compare regarding low-profile?
Also, I want to get an AK for the mrs (as a Christmas gift). She currently has an AFX helmet. Do you think the sizing would be the same? Are they pretty good about returns if it's not the right size?

Hmmm, big sale. Probably just got word the they were going to be tested for DOT.

 

Does anyone have any pics of themselves they can post up? I have a hard time finding any helmet that doesn't mushroom my head.

 

The tend to run a little large. I wear a 7 /14 size hat and mine is a Large. I can wear a ball cap or a watch cap underneath it and it still sits right down on my head. I have not had to send anything back but i understand they are very cool with returns due to size mistakes.

There is a chance of that! I previously owned an Advanced Carbon Composites helmet that was DOT approved but eventually had the DOT approval revoked. I still wore it for another 5 years. I don't care, as long as 99% of law enforcement officers would still assume it is DOT approved, that is fine with me.

These Akoury helmets have the DOT label embedded into the finish of the helmet (not simply a sticker!) and they have the label on the inside of the helmet so I figure I am good to go for another 5 years, even if the DOT approval is eventually revoked. No cop at the side of the road will know that the DOT approval has been revoked.

When you buy one these super-lightweight DOT approved helmets the DOT approval is a bit "sketchy".
