Having only owned touring (but rode all others) bikes I can only offer what has already been suggested except to add, check with Mustang to see if they have a pillion that would make her more comfortable. If not, either trade or if finances allow, get the Road King as a second bike. Sure is nice having more than one.

if it is possible, I would keep the SB and get a newer RK. Use the SB for you to play with and the RK for when you and the wifey want to go on a nice ride. If not, then you gotta keep the wifey happy to an extent. Getting the bike she likes also would prolly be more beneficial than harmful.

Hell of a dilemma...sure is nice to be left alone occasionally to ride solo, but sure is nicer to ride with your partner. Not to mention when your partner rides with you, you avoid several hours of: "Where'd you go? Did it rain? How was the traffic? Did you stop anywhere interesting to eat? Did you ride with anyone else? Where you too cold/hot? Did the Boom audio crap out again? etc, etc, etc"

You guys are all pretty much saying what I have been leaning to... Happy wife, happy life. I wish I could keep the SB and get a RK but it just isn't in the budget. The only good part of this whole thing is if I do decide to sell the SB I bought it at a pretty good price so getting my money back plus a little extra should not be a problem. I have been checking out Craigslist and the local dealerships. Seems to be a good selection of 07 and later Road Kings at fair prices out there.

This isn't tough at all. Your post is filled with several things you like about the RK and not nearly as much you like about the Bob. Kind of sounds like you know you made a mistake and want us to validate it for you. Well, here's your validation. You made a mistake. If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!

I never rode a Switchback but it seems like a bike that's trying to do 2 different things in one package. A touring bike and a cruiser.
Speaking from past experiences, anytime you combine something to serve two different purposes, most times you end up with something that doesn't really serve either purpose very well.

Read your post a couple times & I'm sorry, but I don't see a dilemma.

Happy wife; happy life
No wife; BETTER life!
