Default Leather Jacket - FXRG, Fox Creek or...?

I know this has come up in the past, but haven't seen any threads newer than 3 yrs old, with FXRG line of jackets having been updated (in both features and price) a bit since...

Looking for a solid '3 seasons' jacket that is worth what you pay for... Currently comparing the Fox Creek Vented/Grayson to the FXRG Switchback

Your thoughts?

I will not have another HD jacket due to problems I have had. I have not however had or even tried the FXRG line but...

Ask yourself this: If you have a problem with the HD jacket will they stand behind it? I can tell you first hand that Fox Creek will. They have for me as well as a friend. That is 2 cases that at least 2 people know about.

Your money so hope you get what you want and are happy with your purchase.

IMO if you're willing to spend FXRG kinda money on a jacket you should just go for the very best and get yourself a Schott

I have 2 Schott jackets: a 626 and a PER22. Both of them are amazing and extraordinarily well-made. The PER22 is suitable for riding, and the 626 isn't (it's too fitted and the sleeves cinch up too much when reaching for the handlebars).

I also have two Harley jackets: the Detonator and the #1 Skull Patch jacket. Both are very nice jackets, and while they are not exactly Schott quality, they are well-made. Honestly, with the triple vents and longer back, the Detonator is probably the most practical riding jacket I own. I also think it's the best looking jacket Harley makes right now.

I have an FXRG bib and coat that was made in the mid-90's. I bought it when touring in Europe and it was dry and warm and worked great. I have 2 Fox Creek jackets and if I never was going to leave the US that would be all I would ever need.

The people at Fox Creek will bend over backwards trying to make sure that you are satisfied with you purchase. I order one of their jackets with fringe and one without and had special seam stitching across the back of both. Had both shortened 1'' because it felt better sitting on a bike and so I could get to my wallet easier. Beautiful craftsmanship and extremely please with the pricing for the extra work.

I know that you are not close by, but if you are ever in the area, it is worth a stop.

Good luck!
