Default oil coming out of filter/breather

help a fellow rider out
I have a 2015 fxdb changed the breather to a cobra power flow, had to find new breather hose's that would not crimp up and did.
been running the cobra for a little over year and a half and seem to be having a constant problem with oil coming out and getting it all over my pipes and saddle bags and passanger leg.
oil is only 3 x's up stick and not overfilled don't know what can be causing this and tired of dealer telling me it happens on all H-D's , there has to be something I can do aND going back to stock breather is not it.
anyone out in the forum have any help with this would be very appreciative
Thanks to all and keep the wind therapy happening

It does happen on all HDs. How much it happens depends on a few things, such as oil level and how well-seated the piston rings are. What you can look into is rerouting the breathers out of the intake.

Make sure the crankcase breather tubes are not blocked from allowing the oil/air mixture from being directed into the throttle body to be burned. It may be a dirty foam filter cover. There is a reason the oil gathers in the air cleaner cover and never gets pulled into the cylinder and then it leaks out. That is all I know about that.

I had the same problem on my 09 as most other Harley riders have. The oil mist from the heads is sucked into the intake and gunk up the air cleaner and inside the throttle body. I purchased a plastic "Y" fitting and a piece of 3/8" inside diameter stainless steel braided hose and re routed the mist under the bike. Inside the air cleaner, throttle body and spark plugs are all clean and pristine. Bike is very happy and so am I.

I got tired of the oil on my exhaust pipes so I installed an external breather with catch can this winter.

We have a full line of External Breather Systems (EBS). You can see them HERE.

These will get rid of the oil on your pipes, bags and passenger leg, as well as making your bike run better and last longer.

Full report on how and why they work HERE.

If you need any help finding which one will work best with your bike and air cleaner, feel free to email or give us a call.

Get these and plug the hose inlets in to your cobra.

First thing, make sure you are checking level properly. You are screwing the cap back in all the way aren't you? I ask because some seem to think you do not screw it in, but you are supposed to.
