F11 polish and sealer
#123
good luck to F11, it is no joke. but for me and what money i have left, it is the soap and water, elbow grease method. Dry with a towel and apply wax, then rub off. I could not get it any cleaner. Then i go for a ride with some friends, with my clean polished bike and they ask me why my bike is dirty and when am i going to clean it.

I was very pleased with the appearance after my coat of F11. But I was less than pleased with the "ease" with which bugs washed off after the treatment. I don't think it's any worse than my old wash & wax routine, but not better either. I'm hoping that with time that'll improve...as I use the detailer to build up a resistant finish.

Keep in mind, my application is for denim finish -you don't want to use wax/shine products on denim, but you do want to clean and treat it. Dealer uses a specified product, and there's one other I've heard of you can use with denim finishes. A lot of folks have great success with F11 on denim. I followed misdirection (adverse to the written instructions) from the manufacturer in their videos. I am sure that following the written directions would not have resulted in the problem I have.
And if I had planned on using it on my gloosy paint jobs, I would apply it, and then I'd certainly use Mother's or something on it to pull the shine out afterward, since F11 does not produce a shine -its not what its for. Probably was stated here earlier, but I see folks around the net with misconceptions about the F11 application intent.
Cheers.

There are many great products out there for for both types of paint. Look and see what DIY's and pro's are using. They use what they do for a reason.
Plenty of detailing forums on the net to see results guys get from different products.. Guess what you won't see on 99.9% of those threads. There is a reason for that

I overlooked this comment eaglefan1. Why do you say this?
In 'applications' vids I've seen it appears that a product intended as a long term protectant, i.e., something marketed for feeding and or reviving the finish or surface coating, ...say you put that on your vehicle and find it effectively helps, then what would be the problem using a wax-type application over that afterward?
This one dude had a fairly beat up black gloss truck where he demoed F11 "vs" Mother's and maybe some other products. Well when the F11 didn't make it shine he was a bit dismayed, not realizing that the F11 is not intended for "making it shine" but for helping revive and protect the beaten finish. The test should be is it doing what they demo in the videos, and that's not for affecting more shine/sheen...
As stated above, but after your post that I missed, if I was using a protectant (something to revive, feed, restore, etc the surface finish material) on a gloss finish where the product is not necessarily at the same time designed to bring out a brilliant shine/sheen, then post-application I would certainly see no problem applying Mother's, Carnuba, or whatever-selected wax/sheen product of choice for affecting that result.
Where would be the 'conflict' of these products or their applications?
'm not trying to make a case against what you stated, I am wanting to understand the logic - I am not a surface specialist.
Thanks.
