Default Loud pipes

i work for a resturant down town it is located under some high dollar apatments, anyway i park on a city street in front of where i work. I get off at 11 and i start the bike letting the heads get warm and this guy comes out says he is a off duty police officer does security for the apatments and had 3 phone calls about the reving engine, now the bike was at an idle and i am not an engine rever by nature it sounds good at idle and normal cruising so what i can't ride to work now?

I would guess there is nothing he can do but talk, but might not hurt to double check the city ordinance on noise and make sure your bike falls in the statute. Never seen it with bikes, but have seen a lot of people with piped snowmobiles get tickets here in Mi.

You don't have to sit there and let the heads warm up. Maybe you weren't revving it, but you were obviously there long enough for 3 people to call and complain.
Start it up, run for a few seconds and get the hell out of there at the lowest revs you can. But only if you want to be considerate. If not, I doubt there's much he can do to you.

I assume you have a bike with fuel injection? If so, just fire it up and let it idle to warm it up. No need to rev it, take it easy when puling out (short shift); just be considerate.

Now if they still complain, eff em.

Not enough info. What kind of pipes are on the bike? If you woke me up with Straight Shots I'd be pissed off too.....

This is what I do every morning. I leave for work at 6am I fire it up bang it in gear and drive out of the development at or under 2k rpm. I take it easy on the bike for the first 5 miles or so. Sometimes you have to make some concessions riding a motorcycle.

just because an off duty cop said that three people called him, does not mean that it is true. Maybe he is the only one that does not like it.

I was thinking the same thing. What are the chances he's not a cop either. I can believe "security" but that really doesn't mean squat.
