Carlini riser question.

Carlini riser question.
So I'm close to pulling the trigger on a set of 14inch 1.25 diameter Flying Apes. Between the bars and the new cables, grips, etc, it's going to be pricey, so I was looking to save a bit where I can, so I was hoping to get some advice from folks who may have used these bars.
I see see that they sell stepped and non-stepped versions of the bars, where the diameter of the stepped version narrows to one inch where it connects to the riser, I imagine to be able to fit in the stock riser. But they also sell their own risers in 1 and 1.25 diameter that are meant to fit under the stock cover.
My question is whether or not the stock risers are strong enough to handle the bars with no play if polyurethane bushings are used, or is there a benefit to having the Carlini risers, seeing as they're hidden anyway? This is for a 2016 Road King.
