Hillside USA makes good stuff. Scottnyc makes really good stuff but you may have to take out a second mortgage to afford one.

I have a Fox Creek Jacket and cannot imagine the craftsmanship being any better on any jacket for any price.

Thanks for the replies.

Some have asked for more detail about what I am looking for. I am looking a classic style leather riding jacket with pockets for armor. I am what you call stocky so slim fit is not for me. I would also like to have the ability to vent the jacket. If it comes with or capable of attaching inserts like wicking and insulated layers that would be a benefit I could use.

Most classic motorcycle jackets rely on heavy weight leather, and are not armored. If you want armor, go here:

Vanson Leathers... Whatever style and features you are looking for, they'll have it. Venting, armor, insulated liners, custom, whatever...

http://www.vansonleathers.com/

I've had a Vanson Cobra jacket for over 15 years now. Tough, well made jacket that looks as good as the day I bought it. Great fit, form, and function. Only thing I might have done differently, might have gone with something like the Mark 2 Challenger - just because it might be better for extreme cold temperatures (not perforated leather, but still has zipped air panels on chest etc). Not that the Cobra does too bad in that department (it has the zip up air curtain inner panels). It has an insulated liner that you can get with it. I add my Warm & Safe heated liner to the mix and I'm good to go. Open the inner air curtain panels, sleeve vents and back vents and you'd be surprised how warm of weather you can ride with it on. In extreme heat though, if you feel you got to have something, then a more purpose built jacket would be needed.

Vanson... Good stuff.

+1 on the Foxcreek Leather. I own the Women's Cruiser and it's very well made and the heaviest of the leather jackets that I own. Their lifetime guarantee covers all of the chaps, jackets, vests and pants as long as they are owned by the original purchaser. I also own two pair of their gloves. The leather is super soft and it feels broken in as soon as you put it on(both the jacket and gloves). Good luck on your search.

As many have said Fox Creek Leathers would be very difficult to beat both in value and quality. Great customer service, friendly knowledgeable staff plus lifetime warranty.
