I put a center stand on my Ultra. When I park it it’s sitting up straight
Doesn’t take up as much room in the garage, get more fuel in the tank and also works great for service work like your doing

+1 here.
My bike stays parked in the pit-stop always.
No need to strap it down.

I did put Velcro under the chock just to keep it from sliding when I dock the bike.
I have floor tiles in my garage which makes the floor a little slick.

I also have my battery tender strapped to the chock so all I have to do is plug it in when I park it.
BTW- I only do this in the off season when there's often times weeks between rides.

That being said; I think it's not much less difficult to work on the bike in the chock as it is leaned on the jiffy stand.
For washing and maintenance I still jack it up and put it on my dolly which when elevated is always strapped down for peace of mind.

In the summary, it says:

"Free-standing design can be mounted to floor, truck or trailer bed"

Most of the reviews said that they bolted it down somewhere. So, I would be leery of using it in a free-standing way.

That's something else I had looked into once and then forgot about. Thanks for the reminder!

I guess I'm super cheap. I put a thick brick under my jiffy stand to "level" the bike. This leans the bike enough to do the job but not so level that it is in real danger of tipping over.

It works well enough as a stand. But if you want something a bit sturdier, angle iron may be better for you. I would trust it more than plywood.

I've been looking into the center stand idea and getting interested. So far, I haven't found anything for the 1994 Fatboy. Neither Wheeldock or Harley have one listed that will fit my bike.

I think I might like this idea better than the wheel chock plan. I also think it would be neat to have the bike stand straight up instead of leaning.

This exactly what I do as well. I also park the bike against a wall for some support.

Just pickup a motorcycle pivot center stand or build your own.

What about a motorcycle jack? Why re-invent the wheel?
