Default New motor

I ride a 2001 Electra Glide and my motor locked up (I assume a bad oil pump or something). I'm looking at a different motor. My question is what is the newest motor I could mount in my bike?

Thanks

I think anything out of up to a 08 touring should be a direct fit but I could be wrong. They changed the frame for 09 in touring bikes but I guess I don't know if that would have changed mounting for the motor and tranny.

Check with the parts dept at your dealer. He will look up what yrs will interchange, and give you a price on a rebuilt.
Then say thank you and walk out. Lots of good engine deals here on HD Forum, just got to watch for the right one.

HD has a reman program with factory upgrades installed, and they are also authorized to sell JIMS engines. S&S is also another very popular choice. More than likely your cam chain tensioner shoes disintegrated and got ingested by the oil pump. In a heavy touring bike the T111 is a good choice.
