I don't wear a safety vest but do like to wear bright orange HD shirts. And how can a safety vest be puss equipment if Harley sells all kinds of hi-viz and reflective safety gear https://www.wisconsinharley.com/mens...e-hi-viz-gear/ .

I don't wear a safety vest, but my black cold weather jacket has reflective stripes and my white mesh jacket for hot weather has armor and reflective stripes. I wear a white helmet that also has a couple reflective dots. I also have added LED lights front and rear on my bike.

Of course, the texting idiots still don't see me, but I figure every little bit helps, and I could care less what some young fool thinks about it. Then again, when I was a young fool, (I admit that I was one, and have the scars to prove it) I probably scoffed at riders wearing helmets in non helmet states.

When I travel (tour), I'll put one in the bag. It comes out if I have to pull off the road for some reason. That has come in handy in the past when a buddy broke down along I-75 in FL. I gave him the vest while he was working on his bike while it set next to the highway. Interestingly, a FL Trooper did a U-Turn to see what we were up to and noted that she liked the vest as it was the first thing she saw when she spotted it along side the Interstate. Anyway...food for thought.

I had to read more to see what the OP meant by "safety vest". It's the one that reflects light. I thought there might be one that inflates when you crash.

I wouldn't wear one during the day, but I'd wear one at night...if I rode at night, which is rare.

There are way too many ********* in life that like to spout off about what others do or say, just do whatever makes you happy and ignore people like that.

A lot of good answers here. I don't wear one but I do see them out on the road. If it helps you be seen, then wear one.

As far as the ******** goes, I wouldn't give it a second thought. He found out how to be a real biker from SOA.

I wear hi-viz all the time. I also carry a hi-viz neon lime green vest with reflective strips that's always in the saddlebag. I wear that at night.

I'm just wondering how any of us survived with one 6v taillight, headlight, drum brakes (rear only), foot clutch, jockey shift, springer front end, kick start, oil leaking motor in a ridged frame (no shocks) all dressed in black with nothing more than a bandanna to protect your head, days.

Maybe it was the loud pipes that everyone always told me would save my ars.
Okay,Seriously, I've never considered wearing a safety vest. Guessing it wouldn't hurt.

I find that those who put down others, are usually, the most insecure and unfulfilled in their lives.

They obviously said that so that you would hear. Just ignore them. They usually do not get far in life. Just smile, wave, and ride away.
