Removing fuel stains from beneath clear coat
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...b2e1286852.jpgJust finished removing a broken tank plate screw and ready to deal with the stain left behind. Any ideas? The fuel worked it's way between the paint and the clear coat. Can I squirt a little something in there that will reverse the staining?

Doubtful. Prolly’ have to wet sand the stains out then clear coat.
|
I would just leave that alone. Unless you’re willing to open a can of worms or your wallet to repaint the tank and the fenders .
Can you do the painting yourself? |

Prep and repaint is the only solution, I'm afraid.

You're not going to do anything that will negate the damage, outside of repainting. :>(

Try some light rubbing compound in the bad areas, Apply a hard wax on top and it be fine.

You sure that's not rust migrating from the inside?
Either way, it's a repaint, or just live with it. |
Looks like the start of a nice patina :icon_boat: |
