Osprey Leather Saddlebags
Hey all,
I just found out, David @ Osprey is making saddlebags again.
If anyone is concerned about quality etc, he's top notch.
Years ago, maybe 2004-ish? I sent him the sagging studded bags
off my 2000 Heritage. He used my old bags as a pattern using the
original backing and mntg hardware. These are thicker leather and
reinforced on top. Plus the buckles are WAY sturdier than stock
Other than losing a couple of
rivets over the years they've been perfect. They've seen rain, out in
the sun all day. I really could take better care of them, but they've
REALLY held up. I use Lexol once a year.
Here are a couple of recent pics (they were on my wife's 03 at
the time) For 14 yrs old I think they still look pretty good. I'm sure
my orig ones would have just disintegrated by now. There would just
be the backing pieces. Shame on Harley for putting POS's like that
on anything.
