My friend is about to take his final ride
He’s the one that really ignited my interest in riding 20 years ago, he taught me a lot about motorcycles and life in general. He’s 27 years my senior, he’s been like a second father to me. He’s never taken care of himself, diabetes was out of control for years and years, smoked like a chimney. He recently lost both legs secondary to the diabetes, he was determined he would get prosthetics and ride again. Wound infections were rampant (diabetes) and the VA said no prosthetics anytime soon. This was the beginning of the end for him, he sold his beloved dresser and I think watching it go down the road was the final straw. A week after selling, he was diagnosed with heart failure.
He is currently in the ICU at the Richmond VA hospital and doctors have told his wife he has days, if not hours.
If anyone is willing, would you mind saying a prayer for my friend Art and his family. I’m waiting for the call and will be there for his funeral but as I told my wife, I don’t want to see him in the ICU, I’d rather remember the better times. They have no money or insurance so they will be cremating him. I’m hoping to get some of his ashes and keep them on the street glide, always keep him in the wind with me.
Thanks in advance for the prayers
