I am liking the Pan America, I can see road glide styling in the design.

If the pricing is competitive then this looks like it will be added to my stable.

Nice to see them branching out. I'm thinking it'll be a bit heavy. twin cylinder, watercooled... not something I'd want to try and wrestle in the trails. l like the looks though. Get it down to the weight of my DR, and I'd have a hard time hanging on to my money.

Very smart move.
I just bought a new KLR 650 because I wanted to do some backroad riding and the SG just couldn't handle it.
It's always good to expand you market base. The adventure market is huge especially with the creation of the Backcountry Discovery Routes around the country.

4 new bike and each one uglier than the last, except maybe for the bottom right one.

I've often said that Harley wshould break into the dual sport/off road market but I didn't mean to do it the ugliest way paoosible. Most of those bikes bikes look like some kind of weird transformer wannabe. And what with all the rectamgle headlights. Harley have round headlights, period.

It has to be priced right to sell ......

It's a good move because Many of the buyers of the brands you've mentioned would be on a Harley if Harley built a bike like this. The bike has to be priced right and built and perform well enough to compete. if it fulfills these requirements they will sell a bunch.

This new motor is intriguing. The absence of any performance specifications, to go along with their glossy glamor photos, does not build confidence however.

Great to see the Moco entering new categories. They should make a base model in every category too, from the Street all the way up to the Roadglide.

As much as i dig it i just dont see how harley can be competetive with it. There is no way the suspension will be as good as wp(ktm and triumph) or even yamaha(super tenere) or hondas africa twin. On pretty much all the bikes in the 1200cc segment the suspension is electronically adjustable. And whats it going to weigh?

I mean would you take a harley miles in the woods where if one component fails you have to hike out and leave it? The main selling point of an adventure bike is reliability and durability. Super teneres sell well because of yamaha being one of the most reliable, same with hondas africa twins. I really hope this new motor doesnt replace the sportster and really hope they dont sump like some m8s do.

It looks like hell and I doubt it will be any competition to what is out there.
