Who is going to pay $21K for an FXDR?

LOL what's your favourite sport bike? I'd say Panigale V4, but Suzuki is really good under the money/value point of view. At a certain point we had a Gsxr 600 k4 and it rode so well.
True, true and true.
I'd say that they are trying to wink at a younger audience but they need to think out of their comfort zone a little bit. In that price range is possible to find real sport bikes.
It would be cool if they manage to come out with a real sport bike in a couple of years; a bike with its own project, its own engine and chassis, not something made modifing what other bikes in the line have.
Part of the point of my original post was to point out that Harley - according to its own marketing messages and the words of its CEO - needs to find new *customers*. So they have many initiatives to find/create new *customers*. New riders are one source of new customers, but not the only source. To attract new riders, they have smaller more nimble bikes for urban riders and or new riders, more emphasis on new rider training, etc.
In order to grow their business, they need new *customers*. This bike will not attract new customers, because even if these prospective new customers check out the FXDR (because all the marketing begs them to), they will find this bike to be a more expensive, slower, less nimble bike than other choices they have.
If existing Harley riders buy this thing instead of a different Harley, it will benefit the company some, but not much. I think the bulk of the Harley customers that are looking for a new Harley would probably prefer to have a Street Glide for the same money.

$21k... wow this bike should be $15k and that is most definitely at the top of the price range for what it is... the Suzuki hayabusa is $14k full retail, thats definitely not what you would pay for one and they are a amazing bike to ride... don't get me wrong I love the new Harley Davidson bikes! But even a drug addict will settle for the cheaper high when the drug of choice gets to expensive. We may be the generation to see Harley Davidson go under... 😢

The U.S. and to a lesser degree Canada are a 'debt' culture? Our economies are based on buying 'stuff'! It is not the cost that might diminish sales, it is the product's attraction (whatever the product might be) and the ability to finance. Millennia's? Anyone that believes this fresh meat age group are prudent, efficient or thrifty with their financial resources should examine how they wallow in debt for useless University degrees! Toys baby, it's all about the sell? The competition for these fool's money is fierce!
edit: In 5 years what would be worth more? A reasonably priced 4x4 or an FXDR. No contest!

And so goes the HD legacy, viz. pay $20K for a brand new bike and spend another $30K to get it just right. Does anybody else see a problem with that business model in today's economic climate?

Huh ? Price has everything to do with overpriced sales
I brought a brand new 4 door 2018 TRD V6 Tacoma Sport 4X4 for $5,200 cheaper than a triglide ultra.
Please 🙄
