My 2009 compensator crapped out at less than 20k miles. 👎

The class action lawsuit is in progress. It will be heard by a jury right after the cam chain shoe issue on the pre 2007 twin cams and right before the ABS failure issue.

Someone tell me what these so-called 'bad compensators' are doing. I've not yet read anything about them 'failing', falling apart, or anything at all really, other than being a little noisy maybe.

Just throw it in the trash and bolt in a sprocket, be done already.
The HD engine is the only engine i know of that attempts to put a shock absorption
Between the crank pulse and the clutch.
Thousands of thousands of people have tossed their comps in the trash.
You notice they are NOT here crying they wish they had not ?

Problem with comps will never be solved, it's a perfect storm of design issues come together that will eventually trash anything put in there. You have funky cranks, very high gear ratio in the primary, ever higher torque & horsepower and increasing weight of th bike itself. Something is going to give and the comps designed to be the shock absorber for the drive train.

There was a time when Harley didn't use a compensator. Aside from the pressed pin issue on the the Twinkie is there an additional con to running a solid sprocket on a bike that doesn't see wheelies or figure 8 burnouts?
