What blows my mind is that new harleys don't even come close to something that is this sanitary. Build one with an EVO and a girder springer and keep it that simple? What's wrong with the designers at HD? Too young maybe?

Or, for me, "Please push those handle bars forward a couple of inches so they become parallel to the sissy bar.

Looks a lot like the first 'real' bike I rode in about 19 and 61. Mine had cocktail shaker pipes and a VL front end (and the sissy bar matched the angle) and a bigger tank. Other than that, mine was pretty ratty really.

When you think about it, wasn't a bad beginner bike. The clutch works just like a car clutch, so you don't have a problem getting used to it. The thing isn't really very fast or powerful, so you're not going to pop a wheelie or get pitched off the back if you crack it too hard. The no front brake thing took a little getting used to, though. You get really good at working on them pretty quick too. Memories of trying to weld a broken fender support (real common from vibration) with a car battery, coat hanger wire, some jumper cables and borax from the drug store.
