No. I carry an Antigravity XP Lithium Jump Starter.

Connecting to a co;Venturi all battery charger for a long period will kill a battery...but not a modern electronically controlled battery tender.

FWIW, if a know I’ll be riding at least every third day or so I don’t connect to a battery tender. Otherwise I do.

he just said the bike battery is like a cell phone battery. It has memory. He was giving me the run down of his checks. He said you use a tender don’t you?

Lol I never use a tender on the road. Good point.

When I'm on the road, I'm riding every day, so of course no tender is needed. When I'm not, it can be over a week between rides, so its on a tender, and its certainly on a tender during the winter. No issues.

You should ask if you can hit that Turkish hookah that mechanic is huffing from.

In normal use, I've never heard of a lead acid battery having a 'memory'. NiCad's, lithium's yes, but not a lead acid. I have read a lead acid battery IF close to or fully discharged will never fully recover, and every time this happens it recovers less and less. Possible that's what he meant about memory.

Total bollocks. About all they have in common is they're both batteries.

I got over 5 years out of the OEM battery on my Road King. That's pretty good considering I "abuse" it with a Battery Tender on a regular basis LOL.
