I like it but wonder about gas dribbles on the leather when filling the tank.

It has a felt backing so I doubt that'll be a problem.

I thought about that. I think I'll need to be extra cautious about controlling the drip when filling.

It doesn't look like a good idea if it's going to see much weather. The sun and rain might curl the edges.

I do my best to keep the bike out of the rain. I guess maybe a good leather conditioner could help prevent sun damage.

I'm not 100% sure about that just yet. But then again, I'm not sure how a traditional one attaches, either.

Probably the screw underneath the front of the seat and fitting under the console. Just a guess...

I would've probably bought one for my '00 Road King, which did have the same dash as the one you showed in the OP. Don't think it would look all that great on my SG though, though if it did look good, one concern would be gone - don't think it would affect gassin' up. I think it would have to be two pieces to work with an SG since the chrome panel goes all the way from front to back of the tank. Now that I think about it, I don't know, maybe I need one. I don't think it looks gay. I think it looks more artsy-craftsy, maybe even a hint of Native American leather work in there. Besides that, I love leather. Almost anything worth having is worth being covered/carried/embellished with leather. Thanks loads. Now I have to follow a link to tell me where to send more of my money!

Blues

ETA: Ah well, the closest they get to a SG is a RK. I still like it though and am anxious to see it on your bike.
