So you’re riding down the road. It’s a 4 lane boulevard and your behind someone going much less than the speed limit. Maybe they’re aight seeing or worse texting. So you decide to go around them. At the same time they decide to floor it so you can’t pass. WTF?? Inconsiderate ********!!

 

They are called passholes.

We have them everywhere.

 

Yup. Seems to happen a fair bit.

Out here in California, splitting lanes being legal, I was splitting traffic down on Pacific Coast Highway. Bumper to bumper and as I filtered, the guy in the middle lane had quite a distance between him and the car in front. Probably texting or yacking on the phone, I proceed to move past at a reasonable speed at which point he floors his car to cover the distance...about 40 feet.

Needless to say, I was judging side mirrors and had a path till this guy is suddenly right next to me, braking hard, and his side mirror and the one to my left was directly aligned. Ended up clipping his mirror with mine. I stop and look over at the guy, he is red in the face and spitting angry. I mention to him to pull over but he is stuck in bumper to bumper and can't get over.

There was no damage to my mirror, as they retract back when hit....and I could see none on his mirror. I rode off into the sunset.

Yeah, I hate passholes.

 

I find everybody that does not drive to my standards annoying, that pretty much all other road users....it’s hard being the best driver/rider on the road....

 

I find a lot of people here enjoy speeding up beside you while your merging onto the freeway , as if they don't want you to merge in front of them . I guess they think there so important that they expect you to follow .

 

Not a single soul can ride or drive as well as I can and I have come to terms with the fact. No use in getting all worked up over it.

 

Passholes are merely ******** who are enabled by machinery.
When they aren't driving - surrounded by metal and perceived anonymity, they go back to just being regular ********.

Both the rider and driver appear to be douchebags. What did he think kicking a 4,000 lb car in motion was going to do? And swerving into the bike likely will result in aggravated assault with a motor vehicle charge and luckily not vehicular manslaughter. As part of sentencing hopefully the judge required anger management counseling for both.
