I am/was fortunate that there is a Deka warehouse/distributor across the street from my old employer. The carry the bike batteries and they give us a discount. Last battery i bought was at a retailer for a few months, then returned to the warehouse, and the counter guy let me have that for $40!! Regardless..... I like Deka, and have had several.

I get 7 years, replaced last two 2014, HD batteries. Heat is hard on batteries. That is all I can figure when I read about guys going through them so quick, or they just don't ride that much.

An aside on the Lithium Ion batteries - they are a PITA in cold(er) weather. Put one in my '07 Nightster that I was riding to/from work. I left for work at 0500 hours and if it was much below 50F the battery would not turn the engine over until I turned the lights on and waited for several minutes. Nature of the Li-Io batteries. Once warmed up it worked great, but the inconvenience over-rode any benefit.
