Crowdsourcing this question...
You may not realize it yet, but what we do here is crowd source harley motorcycle questions. The "wisdom of the crowd" is better than the wisdom of a few. (You can qoute me on that!).
Anyway, I have a question....
Pretend you have a 1964 Duo Glide Solo motorcycle ( Here is a good description of that motorcycle https://www.rideapart.com/articles/2...intage-review/ )
Pretend you are in fourth gear at 3000 rpm. Your speed is 65 mph.
Is it possible to go from 3000 RPM to 1000 RPM in 3.5 seconds without crashing the motorcycle?
Basically I am asking if a bike in that scenario (3000 rpm 65 mph) could stop in 3.5 seconds without crashing?
Anway, I am interested in what you guys think...
Thanks in advance.

The brake is important because I am also assuming the bike comes to a near stop. (I forgot to put that in my original post, but I have gone back and edited it)

Heck, roll off throttle and pull in clutch, hit kill switch. 3000 RPM to zero RPM in 3 seconds or less.

Or does that include reaction time?

either way.... given the Duo-glide has drum brakes.... no....
3k,or6.5k one's engine speed shouldn't matter....
