RE: Anyone in the Hellish Texas heat
I must admit that I was a way more cofortable ride comin home without the gloves... circulation wasn't hindered and I think there may have been 3 occasions where what I thought was a bug was probably actually bug guts hitting the knuckles.

Dry heat, huh? So's a frikkin blast furnace!! What is it with people thinking that 117 degrees paired with single digit humidity is somehow a GOOD thing?!?! I lived in Austin for 15 years and NEVER felt like my eybrows were burning off like I do here in Phoenix! And my eyes and contacts getting so dryed out I can hardly see, gimmee a little humidity anyday.

The heat is tough this time of the year, and there are two schools of thought on what to ware. One being cover up and the other is ware as little as possible. Basically I ware jeans, a lightweight mesh jacket and a full face helmet. Let me point out that all full face helmets are not the same as far as ventilation goes, but they are all hot when stopped.

I wear a full hemet, jacket (my desert Bradley crew members (NOMEX) jacket), NOMEX flight gloves blue jeans and my desert combat boots. The heat hasn't bothered me, but after 3 trips to Iraq and wearing everything we had to wear over there, this is nothing.
Did learn to flip the shield up when coming to stops, but other than that all is well.
I still work on Ft Hood, so they want (require) you to be protected, and I believe in it anyway.
The key is: stay hydrated!
