I live in Vernon Bc Canada. We have two dealers close to me. One is 100 miles away and the other is 50 miles away. When I order parts from them it takes 3 to 6 weeks to get my parts. If I pay the extra 5 bucks for rush delivery it takes 1 to 3 weeks to get my parts. They say it is because Harley is redesigning their parts department. Is this the same in the US or are they just waiting to get a full order before ordering to save on shipping cost. By the way us Canadians can no longer order parts from a dealer in the US even if paying by credit card. We have to go to the dealer and pay for the parts at the dealer before they will sell to us

It was the same story in the US up until about a month and a half ago and started in late October/early November. Harley did a lot of changes to their ordering system and really buggered things up. It's mostly all straightened out now though.

 

"mostly" being the key word here. Crashed my LRS 3 weeks ago. STILL waiting on some of the parts to fix it. Service guy at dealership told me yesterday that the parts are not backordered, it's the new system that corporate implemented in the fall.

 

I ordered brakes about six weeks ago and got them in three days.
