Default Shock Fitment for low budget retiree

2011 Harley Davidson FLTHCUSE6

I wish that I could afford top of the line shocks, but I can’t. (Waiting to win lottery)
I can afford take-offs shocks.
Hate my air shocks. I know it would be a slight upgrade going with H.D. take-offs. But until I win the lottery I will have to live with what I can afford.
Will the touring shocks from other Touring bikes fit my bike?
I have seen shocks for sale on the forum that I can afford in the $150 to $225 range.

Will most Street & Electra Glide shocks be inter-changeable?
In looking on H.D. Web site and searching for my 2011 FLHTCUSE6 most newer shocks would not fit per their data.

Will shocks from a 2020 Street Glide work for me?

See a forum brother has some shocks for sale that I can afford from the above model?

Thank you and love this forum, have learned so much from fellow forum members?

Ride on. Sunnyside Up,

Shocks from a 2020 SG will fit your bike but the SG shocks are 12". No such thing as a SG Limited!

Your shocks should be 13. A 13 should give better ride than 12. I would remove the oil from your shocks and replace with Harley 10 wt fork oil. That is a cheap improvement. I tried the adjustable Harley shocks and didn’t like they. I was lucky and got my money back on them.

If I look at the Harley web site it says that 13" touring bike air shocks won't fit my Sportster. Kind of true I had to add a washer on the right side, but other than that they work great.

I took the air shocks off my Road King and put on low-end (ie: cheaper) Progressives on mine and it was an improvement. I forget the exact price, but it was at the very low end of shocks. I was also on a budget. Not a HUGE difference, but certainly seemed to help.

Yours are probably 13" unless you have a RG or SG. 12" give a harsher ride than the 13" Harley hand adjustable shocks

I put newer adjustable take-offs from a Street glide on my 08 Ultra and am happy with the upgrade. Ride seems better than it was with the original air shocks.
