I live in NY, I’m purchasing a softail that is in NH and is currently financed through Harley.

If i go to my credit union in NY and have them electronically pay off the loan, will Harley send me a Title with my information on it? or do i have to wait for them to send the title to the seller, then have them sign it and send it to me?

my credit union said they’d give me a lien release and Bill of sale on the spot once the transaction is completed.

I went through this a few years ago. After I paid off his HD financial loan, the title was sent to the original owner since the lien was in his name. After he received the title, he then signed it and mailed it to me so I could take it to my DMV and register and title it in my name.

NH requires the original owner sign the back of the title and to whom it was sold to. Also needed is the lien holders release signature.
