Default Bike Built with Syn 3

I’ve noticed that the CVO’s have a sticker on the primary indicating that the engine, transmission and chain case were all filled with Syn 3 from the factory.

Does any other bike have this sticker or is it a CVO exclusive?

CVO only. But, don’t fall into the trap thinking that’s what the CVO needs.

I tried syn 3 in my bike when it had low miles, i went thru two oil changes and I had to drain that stuff from my bike.. It was noisy... Just didn't like it, but some swear by it.

I would not recommend the use of Syn 3 in primary..... I replaced a clutch in my Sporty years ago and they told me to use Type F auto trans fluid. I called and asked why.... they would not come right out and say, but eventually told me that Syn 3 had some additives that made it slickery and they had some issues with slipping clutches. Good for engine and trans, but not so good for clutches. Personally, I prefer Amsoil products.

Thanks,

That's what thought also. Strange though, I just bought a 2020 Red Patriot Theme Road Glide and the sticker was on the primary. This is my second 2020 Patriot theme bike, the other did not run like this this one and did not have the sticker on it.

Maybe they put a 117 in mine by mistake and slapped a 114 derby cover on it 😂😂😂.

All I know is that this bike pulls a lot harder than the other.

I ran Syn3 in all 3 in my '04 Road King for its first 50K miles with no problems or noticeable wear when I did a 95" build w/cams at 50K miles.
I think it's a good thing that HD lets its customers know which oil is in the bike they buy.

For the price you pay for a CVO bike, you should get synthetic motor oil.

I have always used Formula + in the primary and a gear oil in the transmission. The HD stores around here usually have Belray tranny fluid in stock.

Do the newer Sporty's share primary and transmission oil? I remember my '99 Sportster had some HD branded Sportster trans fluid.
