Slide it out enough to access bolt but enough to prevent twisting, only works on the one side, granted. Or leave the fender on, or use a screwdriver in the caliper mount - lots of ways to prevent twisting but using the tree as a clamp makes it easier I find.

I really like the yellow passing lamps on your motorcycle. Looks very retro, I might have to find a set for my Ultra!

Thanks sir. They amber lights make a huge difference. People see them because they stand out from the norm. I looked for a quality light already in amber and could not find any. Several members here suggested the stick on film. It actually works very well. Here is a link to the thread I started.

Great writeup. I replaced mine last year with Legends and I bought nearly the same tools that you did.

To echo another poster, the job appears more intimidating than it actually is. The final product is worth the effort and expense.

I'm just amazed by folks like you that take on a job like that and do the research that it takes to learn how to do it. On a scale of 1-10, my mechanical ability is about
-50! You said it looks and sounds intimidating but it's really very easy. RIGHT! LOL! Well, it looks REAL intimidating to me. Great job you did there Cosmic!!

I always get a kick out of your posts Gov! You are great! LOL

I actually thought of you as you mentioned some time back you would like to get rid of the brake dive if I remember correctly. This kit does help with that a lot.

As for jumping into to stuff like this I have never been afraid to. But I have learned a lot of lessons the hard way (I.E. Costly).

Thanks

Nice work! I installed Ohlins fork kit in my buddies '14 Limited. I didn't have to remove the tank though. Is that required on the M8 bikes?

No not required at all. I was doing other work including relocating the Clearwater spots and wiring, as well as detailing the top of the engine. It does make removing the ignition cover easier, but that can be done with the tank on.

I noticed the remarks you made about "no more front end dive". I haven't upgraded yet and right now I'm trying to decide on a lighter bike, since all I do anymore is short rides.

Not to sidetrack the thread, Think long and hard about that. Start with lightening up the Ultra with a tour pack quick release. I regret selling my SGS.
