Default Trask air cleaner ring coming loose

For the second time the chrome velocity stack ring in my trask air cleaner has come loose and fallen out of the hole, just laying inside the air cleaner. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Unfortunately it's happened to me as well.
I fiddled with it ( made no difference I can see or feel) but this time its stayed put for about a thousand miles so far.

Maybe some blue loc-tite or the loc-tite that isn't as strong..... forget what I have, but I have a loc-tite that I use on smaller fasteners to help keep them in.

I'm not sure how those are constructed. Does it just press in and have an O-ring to help hold it in? That's how the old Doherty Power Pacc intake velocity stacks worked, and I believe that Trask bought out Doherty a few years ago. Anyway, if that's how it's constructed go to an o-ring shop and get a replacement o-ring. That worked for me.

the ring is held in with magnets. It just seems the magnets aren’t strong enough or they are set too far apart to mate up.

I just started having this problem. My search for answers has brought me here. I reached out to Trask. They said that they are going to help me out. That Air Cleaner was expensive.

Steven with Trask here. I am sorry this has happen twice to you. Yes the stack is hold in with magnets and a twist lock, have you contacted our warranty team for advice? I would highly recommend doing so. Whatever is causing the stack to do this needs to be addressed, so give us a call and we will work with you on a solution. Thanks bud.

Hi Steve. One of my magnets in the velocity stack is loose. I did the online form and Brandon reached out to me. He sent me one, but I soon learned that the poles had been reversed. He said that I have one of the older ones and he had the shop make me one up special. He also sent me out a new plexiglass window, which I thought was cool. I haven't tested it yet, because I'm out trucking. Brandon did a great job helping me. But beware there are 2 different magnet setups. I will put it back together, take it out for a nice high rpm ride and report back.
