Default Harley and RV's...

Does anyone tow their bike behind their RV. What kind of trailer do you have.

A picture is worth a thousand words !!!

Thanks,

Sorry, I don't have an RV. Just ride my Harley wherever I want to go. Someday, it might be fun to have an RV.

actually what i did was cut a tow dolly in half and extend it 12'. then built a 4x8x5' box on the front half. i origionally built it for the sportster, but the glide squeezed in there after taking 2 inches off the windshield. i mut a car on the back the harley in front and off i go. kinda a train but it rides and works very well.

Since I retired my wife and I have lived full-time in a fifthwheel RV which we tow with an FL-60 Freightliner. Behind the cab of the Freightliner we had a garage built to house our Harley (initially an '03 RoadKing but now an '05 Ultra). In the garage there's a Toy Trax motorcycle lift to raise the bike into position (Toy Trax has since gone out of business). Its a great system and I'd like to show you some pictures, but I wasn't able to upload them.

We use the Harley as our main form of transportation which works well since we tend to follow the sun in our travels. We've put almost 70,000 miles on our bike since we got our first one in Dec '02.

OK, I'll fess up

My name is Steve and I trailer...sometimes

Used to pull the scoots behind a 32' Bounder, but sold it when it wasn't getting much use. Now we use the Blackwood. In this case we were hauling our son and his girlfriends bikes to our Bullhead City house. They drove in a few days later. Being of the old persuasion, sometimes it is easier to tow the bikes part of the way.

Go ahead some of you "I'd rather die than tow my Harley" flame away, just remember you will get old some day and your back and butt won't be what it used to be. OH, I have almost 20,000 miles on this bike in 2 years, 87,000 on the '91 Springer I had before it before the speedo broke about a year before.

Ray,
This is the best pic I could come up with quick. It's a Chariot, made in Oldsmar, Fl. It will accommodate two dressers with room for lots of gear. This is an exceptionally good rig to pull. I have used a number of different trailers but found this to be my favorite. We take the bikes with us where ever we go, set up camp and ride off. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
