On road trip maybe one or two bottle of water for emergency. Food, drinks, bathroom are at the gas station/convenience stores.

I carry 2 waters and one Pint of Jack when traveling. Years ago filled my friends saddle bags with beer and ice worked for us.

Sportsters are capable haulers well. Although the bungees did NOT enjoy the ride! Glad I didn't have far to go.
