Hey Cosmic, isn't there a limit, in pounds, to what the Tour Pak structure can handle? The structure that holds the Tour Pak can bend/break under heavy loads after a while. Am I explaining it correctly? Those cases of Bottled water are pretty heavy.

You are correct my friend. They state 10 pounds max. That said we tested it to the limit a few years back on a Key West run at 38 pounds. I could sure tell it was there too. I think the lid will handle more that advertised, you just have to be extremely careful opening or closing it with a load.

That's funny you should say that. He commented that he thought he may have to go back in for more bungee cords!

On road trip maybe one or two bottle of water for emergency. Food, drinks, bathroom are at the gas station/convenience stores.

I'd be worried the weight would damage my bags or tour pak. What a nut...

I carry 2 waters and one Pint of Jack when traveling. Years ago filled my friends saddle bags with beer and ice worked for us.

Sportsters are capable haulers well. Although the bungees did NOT enjoy the ride! Glad I didn't have far to go.
