How many Bottles of Water do you carry on a Harley?
You would have to have been there to appreciate this.
The Carolina Girl asked me to stop by Walmart on our way home from dinner. As I drove up a guy who looks like a real biker rolled a shopping cart out the door with four large cases of bottled water. I saw a bike parked nearby and laughed that he came shopping on his Harley, all the while thinking no, he must be in a car with all that water. As we stopped and he walked across in front of us he was looking at his bike and shook his head as if to say "what was I thinking". I let my wife out and I stayed in the car watching this guy. He first filled the left saddle back with bottles of water, then move to the right side. and next filled the tour pack. Then he started putting bungee cords around the remaining cases. About that time my wife returned and I told her I had to drive over and see this first hand. I rolled my window down as I pulled up and asked if he through he had enough. He laughed and said "this is nothing, I have carried more". He shared he was leaving Monday for Michigan and most of this would be in the trailer he pulls behind his bike. I wished him a good day and a safe ride. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...25a4edb2c9.jpg |

He's not taking any chances! Must be more expensive up there also. |
1 to drink and one in the saddlebag.

Why didn't he bring his trailer for this is the real question.......reminds me of the beer can guys on garbage/recycling days with their bikes and trailers.

Years ago I carried 5 cases of beer on my shovelhead Super Glide - 1 in each saddle bag - 2 bungeed on the back & #5 on the tank . We had just gotten to AM -Jam and where on a beer run

I try to stay comfortably dehydrated...this way I don't have to stop to piss so many times.

That is a pretty open question. Daily? LDR?
I will go with daily since that is 'pert all I do now. Bcs I live in S. Fl, I find 5 works WELL for me. Or 4 PLUS a thermos with electrolytes and water in it. Come to think of it, :icon_denk: when LDRing, it is the same amount. But each fuel/pee stop, I am buying 1-2 more to chug down. As we all know, hydration is IMPORTANT always. Esp., when riding. |
I'm on a Heritage so saddlebag space is a premium. I keep 2 bottles of GatorAde or PowerAde in a small insulated lunch bag in one of the saddlebags. At each fuel stop I drink one and replace it with a colder one.
