Bought a 2021 Ultra Limited
Last August with prices going crazy I had an opportunity to sell my ‘22 Blue Steel CVO RG. I moved a couple of years ago and haven’t ridden as much so I thought I would do something different. After I sold the CVO, I bought a ‘23 C8 HTC and while it was a fantastic automobile, but it wasn’t a Harley.
Fast forward, I decided I wanted another bike. While my local dealer always take great care of me I’ve become frustrated with HD and their continued add-ons. For example freight lane cost is down considerably and in some cases back to pre-pandemic rates, yet HD wants $850 freight. The surcharge I understood when it was first introduced. For 2023 I thought they should have just raised the price of the bike and removed the surcharge, but nope they raised the price of the bike and left the surcharge.
Well I found a 2021 Ultra Limited with tons of upgrades and only 215 miles. My estimate is that the original owner spent between $20k and $25k building this bike. The bike was purchased September 2021 and picked up March 2022, after the build was completed. Factory warranty until September 2023. I’ve put about 400 miles on it so far and it is a very smooth and enjoyable ride.
Some of the upgrades - HD 131, V&H full exhaust (I changed the mufflers to S&S), chrome everywhere including all bolts on the bike were changed for chrome, XM radio, LEDs and much more….

Congrats! Really nice bike. I did something similar when the market was crazy. Had a Sport Glide that I never really gelled with. Sold it outright to an independent shop for a great price. While I was there getting my check for that bike, I noticed a 2020 Road King Special with 15 miles on the odometer marked down considerably from the price of a new one. Thought about it and went back a week later and bought it. With the savings have been making it my own.
I always prefer to buy new, but with the price hikes (HDs and dealerships) and surcharge, I couldn't bring myself to do it this time.
