In fairness (hate that word) to pirates, actual historical facts reflect that pirates were not wearers of leather especially in regards to how many Harley riders cosplay with the leather look, especially the MC types. The biker look is a modern derivative that developed along with the bike and biker image. It’s not at all comparable to pirates. Good day!
