Wi is 23. Annually. Vintage bike are 73 one time then good for for life

NY wasn’t much more, I had custom plates there so can’t recall exactly
Must be a different WI. I paid $23 for two years registration.

is it two? That’s even better! I just paid it and got my new sticker, haven’t put in on yet. Wi DMV is way faster then NY, that part is cool.

just learning all this stuff, I love the vintage and Hobbyist plate options, one old bike and one hot rod

Good weather year round. Agree, along with 39 million other people.

Lots of varied scenery. Agree

Lane splitting/filtering. Needed due to crowded roads.

An accommodating driving public aware of motorcycles. Disagree. A lot of reckless speeders, half are stoned, a lot with no insurance, left lane campers, drivers won't merge until lane ends then force their way in, and big trucks limited to 55mph creating rolling traffic jams.

No vehicle inspections. Along with 90% of states.

No smog inspections for bikes.Along with 90% of states.

Chill police (particularly motors). I've traveled by motorcycle all across the country. Cops have been chill to motorcycles for the last 40 years.

As to "Kommiefornia", sorry, but the state is a motorcyclist's dream:

Look, California has its reasons for pollution controls, mostly geographic in nature (i.e. mountains). They've worked. What the other 49 states do with their regulations is their business. Don't blame us.
What you say is true. Now lets consider taxes, housing costs, ability to defend self and property. I worked on a month to month contract from 2008-2011. Paid huge taxes in California because I was either renting a room in a house or a hotel. Now I know I could have purchased a 1 ton truck and a toy hauler to live in while out there and paid less in taxes.

But the above statements about CA are true.

Well said @Mark out West . For all California faults, and there and MANY, we are a motorcycle dream place to ride. Not to say other states don't as well, but the nearly year long sunshine, great scenery from beach to mountains, and the 3rd largest state in the Union with many sights to see. I was born and raised in SF Bay Area. I've moved 6 times and never changed zip codes. Between the political climate, homelessness, ban on guns, deficits, housing prices, taxes, etc are insane, the weather and diverse scenery really can't be beat.

All right pile on!

I be curious to hear what other's think is the BEST State/Place to own and ride? Some one with thread skills should create a poll.

Our West we haver:
1. California - For reasons above.
2. Nevada - 80 mph speed limit on highways.
3. Oregon - No sales tax and beautiful roads, but damn hippies and pot heads every where.
4. Arizona - Year round riding weather, but fricking hot in the summer.
5. Washington - Rain 100 days a year.
6. Utah - Honestly never been there but heard it's quite nice.

Wasn't California the original "Put a catalytic converter on it" state? I'll never forgive them for that. My right leg won't either.
haha

My 2014 California V-Rod Muscle doesn't have a catalytic converter. None of the U.S. spec original Revolutions did.

It's so high tech it farts fresh air. I read they want them on lawn mowers out there. Bad old lawn mowers. Will Amurica survive?

Correct. The EPA bugger is NOx. Tight and precise engine temperature control is required to keep NOx within EPA regs, and air-cooled engines will never have that.
