35 dergees, and couldn't get my bike started

Dam, these big twins definately don't like the cold! I did the depressing "adding of Stabil and drygass" to my Fatboy, and wanted to go for a quick ride to run the chemicals through, and while the engine cranked over ok, couldn't get it started. I guess I gotta' go back and try again on a warmer day.....

I talked with my brother in law who has a '99 softail, and he said the exact same thing his bike wont start until the temps get into at leastthe upper 30's

I have never had a problem with mine kicking over in the cold. Could be something elsewhere.............

Both my Road King and now my Ultra always start first try. I have riden the Road King in 20 degree weather with no problem. I agree with Traumaking, might be something else.

drygass"
Don't ,,don't ,,do!!!not!!!!DO NOT!!! For the most part dry gas is a verry high % of methanol..Not good for anything about a Harley...

Do you use a battery tender?? Also if you keep the bike in an unheated garage the battery might not turn the engine over fast enough at low temps,, had the same problem, warmer temps not aproblem,,, I believe the crank position sensor is not reading properly,, just a guess.

No need for Dry Gas. Just add 1/2 oz of Stabil for every 2 gall of gas in the tank and run the bike for a few minutes, hook up your battery to a Battery Tender and you'll be good to go. I turned mine over yesterday in NJ (mid 30s temp) with no problem, and it's carbed.

NO DRY GAS Started mine 29 out 2 cranks and up she came No reason an injected bike should not start at that temp must be something else. How many mies? Check plugs
