Default full face helmets and bike stereos

My wife and I switched to full face helmets for fall and spring. I was thinking about getting a Rumble road system for my Road King. Do you think the sound will be sufficient with wind and road noise when I wear a full face?

I wear a full face on my Street Glide and I can hear the stereo. I must say that it is much better withthe visor up rather than fully closed.

I find the stereo on my Road Glide to be virtually useless when I'm wearing my full face helmet. Even if I turn it loud enough to hear it, the treble notes are all but lost due to wind noise and the coverage of the helmet. So the stereo has turned out to be a meaningless feature on my bike.

It may sound crazy, but try some foam earplugs. I could not hear mine either, but put in some real good earplugs (33db) and can hear the radio just fine at highway speeds.. the plugs cut out the wind roar but not the tunes. Not loud but enough to enjoy. If you want to make it a little louder, crack the face visor and close the air vents on the helmet.

You have to get the earplugs in correctly or they do no good at all.

It's snowing like stink here right now but come spring I might try that. I used to wear ear plugs with my half shell as the wind noise was too loud. Perhaps the plugs knock out some frequencies that you don't need to hear the stereo. I suspect that my RKC windshield doesn't eliminate as much wind as a full fairing.
