Amber Turn signal bulbs
Anyone know a place where they sell the amber colored bulbs for the smoked bullet turn-signals? Looking for brick and mortars place vs. online or dealer. I checked local auto-store and they did not have any.
Otherwise it is the dealer or online.

Up here in the Great White North, you can get them at Wal-Mart. Other than that, I would try any of the custom shops that specialize in Car/Truck, bike accessories (we have a small shop that caters to the Tuner crowd, but he can get you any type of bulb for any vehicle) and I would get the orange LED bulbs.

If you don't want the amber bulb shining through so much, look for the Sylvannia blue-star (or is it silver star) series. It has a silver reflective look to it until power is applied, cuts down on the "fried egg" look. 1157 is one of the most popular automobile bulbs and its cousin 1157NA (amber version) is second. You should be able to find it in ANY auto parts store, auto section of Wally World, or probably the local 7-11. Just ask at the counter where the bulbs are and go get 'em. Half the time, the auto parts clerks don't know a bulb from a barber-pole, if it ain't in the book, they can't help you.
Added Edit: the original 1157 amber was 1157A, which is still available but it was a "painted" opaqueamber coating. The 1157"N"A (or what we called "new amber") had a clear thin plastic amber coating. I can say what I did in the last sentence above since I worked in a "real" independant parts store and I spent more time under hoods than in the catalogs.

Thanks, I must have overlooked them. COuld not find amber.
But the bluestar is interesting. So it only glows yellow when power is put to it? That would make the smoked lenses look nice......
Does it come in single and dual filament models?
I'll have to google that.

I'll check out the sylvanias when I get a chance. Getting rid of the fried egg look might be nice.

I will check them out. I like the idea of getting away from yellow bulbs.
Do you run the red bulbs in the back? I am not sure what the law is in my state as far as what color that should be.
