Just another reason for all bikers incl. sport bikers to support ABATE organizations. It is rediculous to confiscate the guys bike and turn it over to law enforcement. If that is done then so should be any cager or 18 wheeler that violates the speed law. Which is more dangerous to the public? A 80,000 lb truck speeding 80 mph in a 65 zone, or the motorcyclist? If they are going to confiscate bikes for speeding, then everyone caught speeding is subject to confiscation.

I don't think the government should ever seize someones property. At the same time I do think something needs to be done for going 120mph+. The only way this could be fair is if they also seize cars and boats going this fast and scissors if someone is running with them. I am just saying it needs to be applied evenly to anything overtly dangerous.
If property is seized and auctioned the monies should be donated to charity. We have all seen police departments used as a revenue collecting agency for the local municipality. This will ensure the law is applied fairly.

Well sometimes I have a need for speed. An itch that needs scratching.

Not a well trained puppy like some of you. Guess you do well with your nuts in a sack kept on the mantle by your woman. Like mine attached where I can feel them.
And I'm sure your scratch involves going 50+ over the speed limit right? So that means here in Florida you'd be doing 120 mph on the highway.

I would be surprised to see it passing the courts test unless they include confiscation of cages in the law...

Canada has something like this..........I like the idea.

IF I feel like tearing up the road I head to the drag strip.

Gives the cops too much power in my opinion. Wreckless driving sure sounds like a lot of things, making it a cops call. Sounds like something they can make up as they go along too. I'd hate to have to kill a cop.

I'd say they will include all vehicles.

We can and often do confiscate vehicles involved in street racing, which is written under the Reckless Driving law.It is a ClassI misdemeanor just like all other RD charges, except we take their vehicles.

If you are riding that fast and recklessly and are a danger to others you should lose your privileges and in extreme cases your property. sounds like a good deterent to me.

It's not like people go and turn themselves in after they crank over the 1 ton, but what are ya gonna do when ya get chased down for it? It's not a thing of being a good puppie, but more at, enjoying life outside of a jail cell and not having to pay big $$$$ in fines, but then, maybe you're a former investor in the .com IPOs and have money to burn.
