Salesman at a dealer I was in recently said their title is no longer Sales, it’s “Fit Specialist”.

As in they “fit” a person to “the right bike”, then hand you over to the money person.

Only had two bikes I was truly interested in, both were CPO, but one was missing they could not find it and the other had real evident deep scratches on the bottom of both bags and around the front lid corner - "its used" seriously that was his line. I'm like you put it as a CPO on a bike that clearly looks like it fell over - I knew my visit was over.

they are a member of a far larger mega dealer and are the stereotype dealer with no prices - call for the prices but don't expect even then because again - apparently the sales drones are not allowed ... to give you real pricing.

Thank goodness when the bought the dealership they had the decency to at least flip the name around so as not to sully the great reputation it used to have
Back in the end of January I emailed my local dealer Classic with 2 basic questions about a Dyna Switchback that was listed online. What was the price and did it have ABS. I’m still getting texts, calls and emails about coming in because “I still have it and I would love to show it to you”. I wound up buying somewhere else in February because he wouldn’t answer my simple question. You would think that after me not responding to the first month of “come on in “ texts, calls and emails he would get the hint but his last message was last week lol.

If you go to the dealership and let the sales force tell you what bike you should buy, you are in big trouble

"What do you ride" is my first question for a sales person. You'd be surprised at how many dealer employees don't ride.

Just an update because this is fun.... so the dealer whom I could not get prices from while calling and who would not give me the price on a Street Glide while I was there in person looking at unless I "signed in" just updated their site with a price on that very same bike; it was obviously dropped and as previously mentioned when I told the sales manager he quipped about it being used and I said it is far more than just used... so I am guessing they went and did a close up look because its s 2020 special below 23k as a CPO with low mileage. Finally secured a rental Street Glide for this Friday so I am going to make one last confirmation I want a Street Glide; though to be honest I was there with my checkbook and would have taken the bike if the deal had been right.

The sad part was the other dealer who salesman was silly friendly and undemanding who had nothing I wanted... they had a lot of bikes both new and used and one of those Icon Electra Glide Revivals that are all so nice looking but equipped with a seat which just makes me feel like I am sitting on it and the only Harley I cannot flat foot

Remind me why i don't like Stars and Strips. Met up with someone at Stars and Strips in Langhorne, PA.to buy used parts.

I figured while I was there I'd pick up an oil filter for my 2014 Sportster and 1995 Wide Glide. The parts guy was a total ahole. When I asked him for an oil filter for the Sportster he said, "I remember those.". As if it was something to look down his nose at. He directed me and we walked over to the filters. I asked him for a filter for my Wide Glide. His reply was now you getting into the really old crap. I'll need to look in the parts book. I said that ain't old I have a 1969 FLH but I don't want to confuse you any further for a filter for that. His reply, what good ever happened in 1969. Why would anyone ride that junk. Never mind ahole keep your oil filter. One of the sales guys walked over while I was walking out the door. He said stick around for some food and beer. Nope I'm leaving, don't want any even if you were giving stuff away.

I might add I had Hells Bells (my dog) with me while inside the Stealership on leash. She must have been picking up on the heavy negative waves. While the salesman was following me out the door babbling his high pressure sales pitch. Why would want to ride those old bikes? You should buy a new mudercycle. Hells Bells gave him one of her nose poke/charlie horses in his calf, warning him back off motherf*@ker. I pretended not to see what happened but the salesman got the hint and walked away saying, it's all good while slightly limping back to his corner under his rock.

Went to the local Sarasota Florida Harley dealer for a stage 2 on my M8. The dealer had previously installed a Thundermax tuner with the stage 1 I had them do earlier. I asked the service manager if his master tech knew how to update the Thundermax tuner for the new cam . I was told he does it all the time. So I was surprised that when I picked the bike up it didn't have the power I was expecting. I knew the cam was in for sure from the cam lope so I suspected that the tune was off. The dealer, of course, provided no paperwork or screenshots showing which map they had loaded. I was told to just ride the bike and let the autotune work.

Not satisfied, I went to an Indy recommended by a friend. The Indy tech let me watch while he pulled up on his laptop the Thundermax map the dealer had loaded for my bike . I was super pissed when I saw that the dealer had never bothered to update the Thundermax with the map for my new cam. The map was still for the stock cam. How unprofessional! So, the dealer charged TOP dollar and extra hours but didn't even bother to insure that the correct map had been loaded. It is a few clicks on the laptop to pick the correct map from a list. It is not hard, but a tech has to care about what he is doing to get it right. This obviously was not the case with my bike. I will never do business with this dealer again.

It took the Indy two hours to tweak the correct map, so the dealer, in addition to being incompetent, is also dishonest for charging for work that was never done.

Wow. I hope you followed up with those crooks, reamed them out and got at least some of your money back.
