they work opposite of ABS, ABS will prevent the wheel from locking up by rapidly applying and releasing the pads against the rotor. Traction control will apply and release the pads on a spinning wheel when its spinning in snow, mud or a wet surface to help regain traction on the slippery surface. Hope this helps you.
