Actually, they CAN void the warranty if you use other than H-D fluids.........but only if they supply the fluids at no charge. So go back and get your free fluids.
If they won't give 'em to you for nothing, they're liars and you better find someone else to service your bike.

Good idea but most dealers use bulk fluids..as in 50 gallon containers...I doubt you would find many quart bottles in their trash,even if they let you look...:&gt

 

What's a warranty?

 

Find another dealer or find an INDY. They are much cheaper for the same work if not better service. Some stealers won't do what they should for a 1000 miles and still charge you an arm and a leg.

 

My dealer installed Amsoil in all three holes at my request at the 1000 miles service. (it is the only time my bike will go to the dealer other then for warranty work) I do my own oil changes and service, and have only used Amsoil in his bike.
I would look for another dealer if he is going try to mislead you. Thats why I do my own wrenching, the honesty in the service world is hit or miss.

 

As I have posted before. HD can not void a warrenty. They can only DENY a warrenty claim if they can prove that the modification or product was the CAUSE of the failure. I would be good for everyone to look up the Magnuson-Moss federal law on warrenties on the internet. Then you are armed with knowledge when the service department tells you their lies and bullsh-t.

 

SP, I just had my 1st service done and the fluids were the cheapest part of the bill. Labour cost is the killer.

I took in Mobil 1 synthetic for my 1k service. My warranty is fine.
