Because I was a moderator and several posters went over the line with the name-calling crap. That was against the forum standards that I agreed to abide by when I was asked to be a mod. I'd rather just lock the post, leave it standing so all could see the thing, warts and all, rather than getting someone sent to the woodshed and banned.

If I had my druthers, there would be no post locking, and it would be very hard to get banned - maybe only if you threatened someone, but maybe not even then. We're all s'posed to be big boys and girls, so my preference is to let 'em go at it. Always figured it was a pretty good way to let everyone see who was who - the scum always seems to float to the top where everyone can tell what it is.
