Just get a judgment. He probably will default. Just get a judgment. Drunks sober up and some even acquire property. Keep the judgment up to date. Have to be renewed in CA every 10 years. Record the abstract of judgment in the county where he lives. The debt will follow him. That's all civi can do. It sucks, but short of shooting the bastard (which ain't smart), it's all there is.

Does anybody really have an answer to all the ills of this country? We seem to be going nowhere in the justice system, cases like this one proves it.

The one thing that has never changed is the
fact that if you are on a motorcycle and have a wreck
that involes a car when the Police and EMT's get there
you are the last one they will look at. The car people
are the #1 priority, the motorcycle rider is only an
after thought!

I was an EMT for 8 years. We have to follow a protocal and Triage patients. If someone appears in worse condition they will typically get treatment first. Just as the already deceased are last to be dealt with as (seems harsh) you work on the people that have the best chance for survival first. I know A LOT of firefighter, EMT's and Cops that ride. They are not neglecting bikers. They may do the oppisite and want to tend to them first.
Again I'm not trying to call you out. If you say you were ignored, it could be the result of poor training or irrational fears. However it is not fair to say that is how everybody is. If you were not treated correctly it hope that it was pointed out in your case and eventually rectified.

Won't be a revolution...ever. People cannot even stop buying gas for one GD day, you think they are going to fight their own government. Not a chance in hell. Even the French knew it had to be done, and we are supposedly tougher than they are.Americans revolt. Nah, don't think so.

You don't understand this situation at all.
In 1988 this man that hit us head on doing
117MPH in his pick up truck was 60 years old
and had 6 DWI's before this wreck. He was
suspended for life from driving. He lived on
SS(your's & mine'stax dollars) he had never
had anything and never will, except more DWI's.
You can not get blood from a stone..

RE: only 5 years
Tim;
I have rode motorcycles most every day for
over 40 years and about 2 million miles. In
this time I've been on the scene of at least
100 motorcycle wrecks and many involed
cars. So I've seen EMT's,Fire men & Police
ignore motorcyclists at wreck sites and help
the cage drivers first many times, not just
once or twice.
I'll give you an example of Police treating us
as second class.
In 1970 I was riding down as street at about
6:30 AM Sunday morning going past a Mall.
I was doing 50MPH in a 45MPH zone on my
Chopper. I see an old lady in a station wagon
sitting at an exit from the Mall to pull out on
the road I was on. She was looking right at me
I slowed a little. She floored it as I got there
and I hit the rear brake to set the bike in a flat
track slide. Just before I was to hit her I released
the brake which allowed me to up right it and
flip the bike around her front end. I turned around
and went after her. When I caught her I kicked in
the whole side of her car and ripped her mirror off.
As soon as I did a Police car turned on his lights &
siren. I pulled over and he said he saw the whole
thing because he was sitting accross the street.
I said WHY" aren't you going after her then? She
tryed to kill me![:@]He said don't you worry about
her I radio'ed another car to get her. When he's
done with her if she does not want to press charge's
against you, we will take her to jail, if she does want
to press charges your going to jail and she will go
home.. This Police officer rode a motorcycle on his
time off and he was still going to let this lady go
after she tryed to kill me and he saw it happen.. [:'(]
Lucky for me she did not press charges and she
went to jail and not me..
We are nothing but an after thought to Public
service people when we ride motorcycles and
it will always be that way.
Sure there are some GOOD Public service people
out there that will do the right thing for you on a
motorcycle some days. BUT" I suggest you don't
hold your breath waiting for that day! [&o][:'(][:@]
Your on your own if something bad happens while
your riding your motorcycle and if you believe
anything else your in for a rude awakening one day!
I've lost many, many good friends to motorcycle
wrecks in over 40 years of riding and I'm sure
some would be here today if it was not for being
treated like a second class citizen at a wreck site.
They all knew the risk they took throwing a leg
over a motorcycle is the only thing that lets me
keep going every day of my life! My wife knew the
risk for all the years we rode together, my second
wife knows the risk now every time we throw a leg
over the motorcycle. We "LOVE" to ride so we do!
Them that don't "LOVE" to ride don't!
if I can still stand I'm riding every day[b

Sorry for taking so long to reply, the story goes, he was driving west bound on Pocatello Creek Road, 4 lane with a turn lane, bike was in the turn lane facing west, idiot said he was looking for a CD and struck the back of the bike. My problem, the passenger was killed instantly, the driver was thrown from the wreckage, the idiot drove over him and left the scene, they say that is what killed him when the car drove over his chest. The police followed the scrape marks on the road and found the driver sitting in his car. No medical problems, past drug and alcohol problems, the spray can was not brought into evidence for some reason. Could have been high. Again sorry for not responding sooner

All that I'd want is a conviction/judgement and then garnish wages that are geared to the SSN the rest of their natural born days.
That should put a dent in being able to afford booze.
I don't care if it takes 10 years to do it. I've been through those law suites most just give up an they go free. On to keep drinking and do all this crap again.
