While I hope they catch the guy, I just know even if they do all he will get is a slap on the wrist, maybe a fine for running the red light. pisses me off.

But he'll get a fine, and maybe a pat on the back, while the family is left with nothing. Oh, of course the driver has no insurance I imagine, and very little money, so again, the family is left with nothing even if they do find them.

 

When I read these stories I don't know what pisses me off more,the cager,or the guy with no helmet,protective jacket,or health insurance.This particular story doesn't say,but I'm willing to bet he had none of the above.

Bummer thing to have happen. You have to wonder though, about a guy who has a family to support not having health insurance. His choice is going to really add to the family's grief.

 

Can't vouch for the insurance/jacket but Athens is in GA and we got a lid law, so chances are pretty good he had one on.

 

My thoughts go out to the rider and his family. I hope they catch the idiot that caused this accident.

I drove by and saw where the police painted the skids. The road that the cager came out of is known for a large population of hispanics, I believe many are illegal. Odds are it was an illegal who can't drive. If they catch the guy,I doubt anything would happen.

Hopefully the Hawg Pen will have some sort of benefit ride. Should remind us all how important life and health insurance is for a biker.
