Um, the last time I check there was only 12 months in a year! \\; \\; \\; You must mean the 32nd week of 2002.
Any way I purchased a used 1200 from a dealer and shortly afterwards \\; saw that the front tire was cracked on the sidewalls.
This bike was only 3 years old and the dealer wouldnt replace it so I was going to but decided to trade for an electraglide.
I made sure of the tires on the glide before I bought it, the back was brand new with a little of the blue stuff still on it and the front was only a couple months old.
But what kills me is the dealer replaced the front and rear on my 1200 before they sold it!

So you wanted replacement tires for free and came out with a new bike? \\; That's what I call "salesmanship". \\;

Look at the sides for dryrot if no dryrot tires are still good

Don't stop with the sidewalls. I took my wife's two year old Suzuki in for service and the service advisor pointed out dry rot cracks in the tread gaps. They gave me a prorated replacement set and free labor to change. Unless you really look for it cracks can be hard to spot.

I didnt buy another bike till almost a year later, and nobody sold me anything! \\; \\; \\; I purchased what I wanted.
The wife started riding with me and I needed a bigger bike.
When I purchased my 1200 last year it was a 2005 model, soon after, like a month I noticed the front tire was dry rotton on the sidewalls.
Yes I felt they should have replaced that tire because it was supposedly serviced and checked out and ready to go when I bought it.'
I thought it funny that after I traded it in they felt it was in need of two new tires before they resold it.

Bunch of crap!! So long as they are not visibly \\; damaged , ride on safely! \\; I used to do race tires and had jet drag cars runing on 20 year old rubber , NO PROBLEMS and at 300 PLUS Mph , I think they would not risk it.
