FXDX T-Sport
#21
I origionally wanted an FXR, based on it's handling reputation, but guys I know and trust with a lot of HD knowledge steered me towards the TC T-Sport, knowing what I had in mind for the bike (a major performance build). The motors now a 111/117 103inch, with a bunch of aluminum and composite to bring the wet weight down to 620 and improved the handling/braking up to the motors capability...a real HD TC Sport Tourer...for only thousands more than simply buying a metric.....

Superglide with a steeper rake angle (28* as Sharkey said), dual discs on the front and much more adjustable suspension. Sundowner seat std equip. Black motor.
approx 4500 produced over (I think) 4 model years.
Here's mine last year in Tennessee.

No way. It was a FXDX (Superglide Sport, the best handling big twin) with bags and shield.

Mr Ken is basically correct; the Dyna, Sport and T-Sport shared the same frame (28 deg)and the Low Rider and Wide Glide shared a 32 deg frame IN THE YEARS the FXDX/T were made.
Fact is HD only has three big twins; the softies, the dynas and the FLH's. Everything else is just minor variations of the basic platform to give us variety and price points.
If power/weight and handling potential are what you're after, then a twin-cam engine in a 28deg frame is where I'd start working. For getting your buttocks close to the pavement, a Softie, and if you want an Eldoroado Sedan De-Ville Brougham, then it's an FLH.....
Each to their own, eh?
Merry Christmas to you all.....

Geoff: That was due to the "taller" suspension; see you have a Beemer, you understand lean angles pretty well then....
I looked for months and drove 1000mi one way in winter to get mine. It was worth it to me.

The T-Sport is a great bike. Had an "01" (sold with 40K miles) and when went to the
100th anniversary found out the the "03" was its last year. When got back home I went and found out there were only 3 black color anniversary models left (gunmetal was not my color) in CA and closest one was 4 hours away. Immediately went and bought it. Now have 70K miles on it and it is my weekend Lake Tahoe area mountain road carver. Wife got a taste of bagger life with a 2 week Fly and Ride and said she wanted a bagger for our summer excursions. I said only if I can keep the T-Sport. She agreed and the T-sport is still in the stable used regulary.
